Jaguar Coaching Staff
2This will be Coach Koerkenmeier's 11th season at BVW and his 4th season as the head coach. He played at Blue Valley High School and Emporia State before starting his teaching and coaching career at BVW in 2008. Coach Koerkenmeier teaches Social Studies and is also an assistant track coach. He is married to Darcy and has two kids Kynleigh (7) and Kacyn (5).
Coach Copp is a 2005 BV West graduate. He played football at BVW. He’s been in education for 10 years, coached football for 13 years, and his 7th year at BVW. Coach Copp has been married to his wife Amy for 8years. They have 2 daughters, Charlotte (4) and Madison (1). He teaches Modern World, U.S. History, and AVID.
This is Coach Cat’s 13th year coaching high school football, 5th year at BVW, and 9th year as a defensive coordinator. He played in high school at Vernon Hills High School in suburban Chicago. After graduating from VHHS he attended Bradley University where he played rugby. Coach Cat teaches mathematics and also coaches freshman wrestling at BVW. He is engaged to Nellie and has 2 dogs, Daphne and Payton.
This will be Coach Ahern’s 5th year on the staff at Blue Valley West and year number 10 coaching football. Coach Ahern played and coached at the University of Central Missouri. He married his best friend Kelce in January of 2016 and they welcomed baby Leighton in March of 2018. Coach Ahern teaches elementary PE in the Raymore Peculiar School District.
Coach Stone graduated from Emporia State University and has been coaching football for 22 seasons. He has been a counselor at Blue Valley West for 6 years. He and his wife Holly have two children, Rylie and Jackson.
Coach Bandy was on the Jaguar's first football staff when the school opened in 2001. He took some time off from football and is now in his 9th year back on the staff. He is originally from Iowa, graduating from Iowa State. He teaches Psychology, AP Psychology, and heads up the Social Studies Department. Coach Bandy is the Head Boys' Golf Coach and is the Defensive Line Coach for the JAGS. He has been married to Sara Bandy for 18 years and have two twin 8th graders, Jackson and Kaden.
Coach Dickerson is in his first year teaching at Blue Valley West. This is in his first year coaching football at West and second year coaching football overall. He graduated from the University of Kansas. Coach Dickerson is also an assistant softball coach at West. He is a part of the Business Education Department. He teaches Business Essentials, Marketing and Personal Finance.
Coach Lowe is beginning his 32nd season of coaching high school football. He teaches Physical Education and coaches receivers. He started at West when the school opened and has been the only Head Wrestling coach in the school’s history. He is married to wife Staci, a PE teacher and Head track coach at BVSW. He has 3 children, Briana, freshmen at K-State, Brooks, a sophmore at BVW, and Brynn, a 7th grader at Aubry Bend.
This is Coach Haley's 11th year coaching high school football and 5th at BVW. He played football and baseball at Shawnee Mission South High School. Coach Haley teaches Physical Education at Lakewood Middle School where he coaches basketball. He is also an assistant coach for the Jaguars Baseball Club. He and his wife Jill are blessed with 4 kids: Grady (7), Owen (5), Lucy (4), and Ivy (1).
This will be Coach Howard's 2nd season at BVW and his 32nd year coaching football. In his most recent tenure, Coach Howard served as the offensive coordinator for Lee's Summit West High School, and helped lead the Titans to 3 state championships. He is married to Susan, and has 3 children, Blaise (23), Chance (19), and Morgan (8).
Joe Allison is in his 2nd season as the head baseball coach as well as coaching running backs and teaching PE at BVW. He coached football and baseball at Leavenworth HS for 16 years. While at Leavenworth, Coach Allison spent time as the defensive coordinator, special teams coordinator, head middle school coach, and worked mainly with running backs, linebackers, and defensive backs. Coach Allison played college football and baseball for 2 years at Benedictine College before transferring to Washburn University to finish up his last 2 years of football. Joe is married to his wife Heather (9 years) and has 4 children, Chase (10), Brayden (8), Judson (3), and Sophie (1).
