Jaguar Coaching Staff
This will be Coach Koerkenmeier's 11th season at BVW and his 3rd season as the head coach. He played at Blue Valley High School and Emporia State before starting his teaching and coaching career at BVW in 2008. Coach Koerkenmeier teaches Social Studies and is also an assistant track coach. He is married to Darcy and has two kids Kynleigh (6) and Kacyn (4).
Coach Copp is a 2005 BV West graduate. He played football at West and had the chance to play with some great players and teams. He’s been in education for nine years, coached football for 12 years, and his 6th year at BVW . Summer football normal for his daughter Charlotte who never misses a day. Coach Copp has been married to his wife Amy for seven years. They have daughter Charlotte (3) and are expecting a baby November 10th, while the Jags are in the playoffs! He teaches Modern World, U.S. History, and AVID.
This is Coach Cat’s 12th year coaching high school football, 4th year at BVW, and 8th year as a defensive coordinator. He played in high school at Vernon Hills High School in suburban Chicago. After graduating from VHHS he attended Bradley University where he played rugby. Coach Cat teaches mathematics and also coaches freshman wrestling at BVW. He is engaged to Nellie and has 2 dogs, Daphne and Payton.
This will be Coach Ahern’s 4th year on the staff at Blue Valley West and year number nine coaching football. Coach Ahern played and coached at the University of Central Missouri. He married his best friend Kelce in January of 2016 and they welcomed baby Leighton in March of 2018. Coach Ahern teaches elementary PE in the Raymore Peculiar School District.
Coach Stone graduated from Emporia State University and has been coaching football for 21 seasons. He has been a counselor at Blue Valley West for 5 years. He and his wife Holly have two children, Rylie and Jackson.
Coach Bandy was on the Jaguar's first football staff when the school opened in 2001. He took some time off from football and is now in his 8th year back on the staff. He is originally from Iowa, graduating from Iowa State. Coach Bandy wears many hats at West. He teaches Psychology and Advanced Placement Psychology as well as heading up the Social Studies Department. He is also a member of the Leadership Team at the school. Coach Bandy is the Head Boys' Golf Coach and is the Defensive Line Coach for the JAGS. He has been married to Sara Bandy for 17 years and have two twin 7th graders, Jackson and Kaden.
This is Coach Salsgiver's 14th year coaching high school and 3rd at BVW. He is a Shawnee Mission South Graduate. Coach Salsgiver played football at Dodge City Community College then attended Avila University. Coach Salsgiver is an Instructional Design Coach for the Blue Valley School District. He has been married to his wife Natalie for 10 years. They have two children Harper who is 5 and Colton who is 18 months.
Coach Lowe is beginning his 31st season of coaching high school football. He teaches Physical Education and coaches receivers. He started at West when the school opened and has been the only Head Wrestling coach in the school’s history. He is married to wife Staci, a PE teacher and Head track coach at BVSW. He has 3 children, Briana, a senior at BVSW, Brooks, a freshman here at West, and Brynn, a 6th grader at Aubry Bend.
This is Coach Haley's 9th year coaching high school football and 3rd at BVW. He played football and baseball at Shawnee Mission South High School. Coach Haley teaches Physical Education at Lakewood Middle School where he coaches basketball. He is also an assistant coach for the Jaguars Baseball Club. He and his wife Jill are blessed with 4 kids: Grady (6), Owen (4), Lucy (3), and Ivy (Summer 2018).
This will be Coach Howard's 1st season at BVW and his 31st year coaching football. In his most recent tenure, Coach Howard served as the offensive coordinator for Lee's Summit West High School, and helped lead the Titans to 3 state championships. He is married to Susan, and has 3 children, Blaise (22), Chance (18), and Morgan (7).
This will be Coach Farnsworth's 1st season at Blue Valley West and he is currently the Physical Education Teacher at Nativity Parish school in Leawood, KS. He graduated from Emporia State University and also has his Masters from Pittsburg State University. This will be his first year coaching high school football in the EKL.
Joe Allison joins the BV West football staff from Leavenworth HS where he coach football for 16 years and served as the head baseball coach for the past 10 years. While at Leavenworth, Coach Allison spent time as the defensive coordinator, special teams coordinator, head middle school coach, and worked mainly with running backs, linebackers, and defensive backs. Coach Allison will help out with the running backs and o-line this season for the Jags. He will teach physical education and serve as the new head baseball coach at BV West HS. Coach Allison played college football and baseball for 2 years at Benedictine College before transferring to Washburn University to finish up his last 2 years of football. Joe is married to his wife Heather (8 years) and has 4 children, Chase (9), Brayden (7), Judson (2), and Sophie (New Born).
